There's so many Roller Shades to Choose From, Which One is Right for You?!
MODERN WINDOWS REQUIRE MODERN SOLUDIONS
In our previous blog about layering we touched on how to choose the correct openness of the shade fabrics for your space, but choosing the right shades is a whole lot of information. While most people are used to seeing a standard manual shade with a bead chain to open and close, there's a lot of other options!
SINGLE ROLLER SHADES
These shades are your standard, I'm sure you've seen then in homes to fast food restaurants. Easy to use, and perfect for layering with draperies or adding privacy for the evening. Theirs a variety of operational options, manual loop chain operation, motorized and completely meshed with your building management system. You can also get a crank version for store fronts, and spaces where you want to make sure people aren't operating the shades when they shouldn't be. With a single roller shade, you can choose what you want your everyday solar or privacy fabric to be and layer other options with it for a polished look.
BOTTOM UP SHADES
Bottom up shades are a great solution for first floor store fronts and residences, where you might want a little extra privacy from the street views, and still allow all of the sunlight in. Where most shades have the brackets only on top, this shifts the entire mechanism to the bottom of your window, and the shades roll UP, so you can block out the street and leave the tops of your windows open. This style of shade has all the options of a standard roller shade, manual, motorized, a variety of colors etc. the hardware is hidden behind a fascia, you have a few choices of colors to choose from to make this option blend with your window mullion and decor.
DUAL ROLLER SHADES
Dual shades are a great solution in a commercial space. With these you can have two different shade fabric options that cover each window. Perfect in meeting rooms that have exterior windows so you can black out a room for a projector but want solar filtering otherwise. This set up is a little bulkier that most want in a home, but if you have deeper recessed windows, you may not notice the difference.
EXTERIOR ROLLER SHADES
If you are looking to block solar heat from entering your building at all, or you want a little privacy on your patio, we have a shade fabric for that! Exterior shades have a more durable fabric to withstand the sun and all of the elements. These shades are great with a motor; this was you can conveniently use a remote or a wall switch to operate them. Motorized exterior shades can be direct wired as well as installed with a solar power bank. These shades can also be installed to zip closed if you are installing someplace where a good gust of wind may roll through, such as a restaurant patio. This way you are offering guests privacy and protection from the elements. These shades are also available in a variety of colors and openness to suite your spaces.
MOTORIZATION: THE FUTURE OF WINDOW CONTROL
We can motorize any of our roller shade options, taking your sleek solution to the next level or ease and usefulness. With motorized shades you cut out the need for visible chains and cranks, and you can program your shades into your building management system. These installations can be simple RTS wall switches that work like a light switch, operated within the rooms you are in. You can also take them up several notches with your BMS systems and have them open and close with the movement of the sun to keep everyone comfortable.
